I picked up a technical pen one day in May 1986 and began to make tiny dots on a piece of white Foamboard. For reference, I used an old family photo of my grandpa and uncle. Before I knew it, a rich, detailed black and white picture began to take place right before my eyes! Stippling, as it is called, is almost like sculpting with a pen. The picture won First Place in the 1986 Arlington County (Virginia) Fair. And I was hooked on this medium.

Old buildings and scenes of long ago days have always interested me. I base my stipple drawings on photos but add to them to create an almost "steel engraving" effect. Stippling is something that takes a great deal of patience, as you can imagine! You must not rush things but put the dots of ink down one by one to give the illusion of various shades of grey.

Now you have a chance to own one of these unique works of art. There are only 100 prints in each edition and I personally sign each one. They are perfect for matting, framing and hanging on your walls!
